In this episode we will discuss RNA-binding proteins. switchSENSE^®, a biosensor technology based on DNA nanolevers, is used to investigate RNA-binding proteins with multiple binding domains. The contributions of different protein domains to the overall interaction were characterized to distinguish between the affinities of the different domains and their avidity or cooperativity. In addition, binding-induced changes in RNA structure like looping were detected.
