In general we recommend an annual service visit, which includes a complete documented re-qualification of the instrument according to QC standards.

Selection of Coupling Kits

This guide helps you towards the right approach for a successful switchSENSE®experiment.
Please follow the 2-step guide below to be directly transferred to the coupling kit, which is of interest for you.

Step 1 I Immobilization Methods

The biochip surface is functionalized with single-stranded DNA. The versatility of the experiment lies in ability to hybridize a wide-array of complementary DNA sequences. Your molecule of interest, referred to as the ligand, is immobilized onto the double-stranded DNA nanolever, either by direct covalent coupling or by tag-capturing methods.

switchSENSE® offers plenty of solutions for the immobilization of your ligand.

Step 2 I Covalent Coupling

We offer three different solutions using pre-established protocols for the covalent immobilisation of your biomolecules.

Amine Coupling, Thiol Coupling and Customized Strategies.

Most of them are known for a long time and are easy to use and work under physiological conditions with different kind of buffers and additives (please check in the respective user manual). The kits are optimized to ensure a 1:1 coupling between the nanolevers and ligands.

To ensure highest quality of your conjugate we offer two different purification methods:
1. Chromatographic method for highest performance
2. Spin columns protocol (faster)

Step 2 I Tag Capture Methods

We offer a large array of options for the non-covalent immobilisation of your biomolecules using tag-capture.

Proteins are expressed with a variety of different tags, which can be targeted for binding to the DNA nanolevers. Complementary DNA conjugated with the second interaction component is hybridized onto the biosensor surface, and used for the capture of your molecule or interest.
